10 p.m. ET; CBC, NBCSP, NHL.TV

The Game

Carter Hart can become the first goalie in NHL history 21 years old or younger to win his team’s first three games of a season when the Philadelphia Flyers visit the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has won his first two starts this season, including his first NHL shutout, a 25-save 4-0 win against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday.

The Flyers will try to open the season with three straight wins for the first time since 2011-12.

Goalie Jacob Markstrom will make his fourth straight start for the Canucks, who seek consecutive wins following an 8-2 victory against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday.

Players to watch

Flyers forward Travis Konecny has five points (three goals, two assists) in his first two games.

Canucks forward J.T. Miller had an NHL career-high four points (one goal, three assists) against the Kings after being moved up to the top line with Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser.

They said it

“I don’t think it’s necessarily an excuse but it has been difficult. It’s been a lot of flying and time zones and you don’t realize how much the flights dehydrate you until you’re actually a couple days into it. I did a hydration test with our guys and I wasn’t even on the chart. I was so far off it was crazy.” — Flyers forward Travis Konecny on Philadelphia’s early travel schedule, which included a trip to Prague for the 2019 NHL Global Series

“It’s never family on the ice. Obviously, we’re smiling and joking with each other, but at the same time we have that mentality in us that we’re going to do whatever it takes for our team and I know there’s no friends out there.” — Canucks captain Bo Horvat on playing against Konecny, his second cousin and everyday training partner in the offseason.
