CHN Staff Report

Notre Dame senior forward Joe Wegwerth will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ligament in his knee, according to coach Jeff Jackson. The injury came during a practice.

A 4th-round NHL Draft pick of Florida in 2014, Wegwerth was having his best season so far, with 7-4—11 in 12 games. Total in 107 games for the Irish over four seasons, the 6-foot-3 Wegwerth had 21 goals and 37 points. He was a part of NCAA tournament teams the last three seasons, including two Frozen Fours.

Notre Dame is currently 7th in the Pairwise with a 12-6-1 record. It has two games with Minnesota coming up, and nothing but Big Ten games the rest of the way.
